Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suction, and patient monitoring
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize equipment following OSHA protocols
- Manage patient records and digital charting systems efficiently
- Provide chairside support during complex restorative and cosmetic procedures
- Administer local anesthetics and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring (with certification)
- Deliver post-operative instructions and patient education
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license (Louisiana)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or specialty practice
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a high-volume setting
- Positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning
