Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and assist with digital imaging systems
- Manage patient flow, including charting, scheduling, and insurance documentation
- Provide chairside assistance with suctioning, material preparation, and patient comfort
- Perform lab tasks such as pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, and processing lab cases
- Train new assistants on office protocols and equipment operation
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or RDA license from Tennessee Board of Dentistry
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software (e.g., Dentrix Eaglesoft)
- CPR/BLS certification and current HIPAA training
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and dental infection control standards
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning
