Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument handling, suction, and patient positioning
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of dental supplies
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Perform infection control protocols and OSHA compliance measures
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital charting
- Deliver post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize workflow and patient experience
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Strong communication skills and ability to put patients at ease
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
- Valid Texas state dental assistant permit
