Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, prepare them for procedures, and ensure their comfort throughout the visit.
- Chair-Side Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, handing instruments and materials efficiently.
- Dental Radiography: Take and develop accurate dental x-rays (X-rays) as prescribed by the dentist.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and treatment histories.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials to ensure the practice is well-stocked.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-procedure care.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) or DA (Dental Assistant) license in California.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred, but we are open to training the right candidate immediately.
- Skills: Proficient in 4-handed dentistry, digital radiography, and dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
