Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring a clean environment.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs as directed.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and filing insurance claims accurately.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order necessary materials.
- Assist with front desk duties during peak hours, including scheduling appointments and greeting patients.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA) or equivalent state licensure.
- Experience in general dentistry preferred; new graduates welcome to apply.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- CPR and BLS certification required.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
