Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient appointments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs as directed by the dentist.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Ensure proper sterilization and disinfection of all dental instruments and equipment.
- Manage patient records, including updating charts and verifying insurance information.
- Provide excellent patient education and chair-side support to ensure comfort.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
- Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification or state licensure preferred.
- CPR and BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like bending and lifting.
