Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring proper sterilization of instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and provide post-operative instructions to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Radiography: Take and develop dental X-rays (XCP) accurately and safely, adhering to all radiation safety protocols.
- Office Management: Manage patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials, ensuring the clinic is always stocked and efficient.
- Infection Control: Strictly follow OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection prevention and sterilization of all dental equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Indiana Dental Radiography license and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry practice is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and strong communication skills are essential.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
