Responsibilities
- Chair-Side Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments are properly prepared and sterilized.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, update medical histories, and explain treatment plans in a clear and friendly manner.
- Radiography: Take and develop dental X-rays (XMR) following strict safety protocols and ALARA principles.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization standards and cross-infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment.
- Operatory Management: Set up and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before each appointment.
- Administrative Tasks: Process insurance claims, file records, and manage appointment schedules efficiently.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners license (RDA or EDA) required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Certification: BLS/CPR certification and radiography certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and modern dental technology.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and the dental team.
