Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including exams, fillings, and extractions
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and impressions
- Manage patient records using digital software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft)
- Provide post-operative care instructions and patient education
- Order inventory and maintain equipment functionality
- Ensure OSHA and HIPAA compliance protocols
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of chairside experience
- Valid Louisiana radiology certification
- Proficiency in digital imaging and charting systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Knowledge of dental materials and instruments
