Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures, including taking vital signs and explaining treatment plans.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with precision and efficiency.
  • Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral images.
  • Perform chair-side assisting duties, such as handing instruments, maintaining a dry field, and applying rubber dams.
  • Adhere to strict sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance.
  • Manage patient records, update information, and assist with insurance verification and claims.
  • Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventative care.

Qualifications

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in California required.
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) must be current.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
