Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures, including taking vital signs and explaining treatment plans.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral images.
- Perform chair-side assisting duties, such as handing instruments, maintaining a dry field, and applying rubber dams.
- Adhere to strict sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance.
- Manage patient records, update information, and assist with insurance verification and claims.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventative care.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in California required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) must be current.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of manual dexterity.
