Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical cases
- Take and develop diagnostic dental radiographs with digital sensors
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for efficient patient flow
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide monitoring (certified)
- Perform accurate charting and documentation using Dentrix software
- Train new staff on practice protocols and equipment
- Coordinate patient education on oral hygiene and treatment plans
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Dental Assistant license or DANB certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- CPR/BLS certification and nitrous oxide monitoring certification
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Exceptional chairside manner and patient communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
