Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including patient preparation, instrument handling, and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with proper infection control protocols
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital chart maintenance
- Sterilize and maintain dental equipment and operatory cleanliness
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma from an accredited Dental Assisting program
- Current DANB certification or state dental assisting license
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to create a comfortable patient experience
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
