Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic work
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Manage patient records and digital charting using Dentrix software
- Provide chairside support during emergency treatments and sedation procedures
- Train new dental assistants on clinic protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant certificate or Associate's degree in Dental Assisting
- Current Michigan Dental Assistant license and radiography certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital imaging software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft)
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Exceptional chairside manner and patient communication skills
