Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Take and develop digital X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs.
- Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before procedures.
- Manage patient records, verify insurance benefits, and handle scheduling inquiries.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Perform chair-side assisting duties including handing instruments and managing suction.
Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Dental Assisting (e.g., DANB Certified Dental Assistant).
- Current valid state license to practice as a Dental Assistant in Ohio (if applicable).
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support) is required.
- Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records (EHR).
