Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, prepare them for treatment, and educate them on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization, disinfection, and safety protocols.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, medical histories, and treatment records in our digital practice management system.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies, instruments, and materials to ensure the office is fully stocked.
- Lab Work: Process dental impressions, pour models, and create temporary restorations as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification or state licensure (e.g., NCDH license) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a dental office setting is a plus, but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency in X-ray (radiology) certification is required.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a full-time schedule, including some evenings or Saturdays as needed.
