Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside support including instrument transfer, suction, and patient repositioning
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images
- Manage infection control protocols using CDC guidelines and sterilize equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for efficient patient flow
- Deliver exceptional patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain digital dental records using Eaglesoft practice management software
- Coordinate with front desk staff to optimize patient scheduling and experience
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Strong understanding of dental instruments and sterilization procedures
- CPR certification (BLS) and willingness to maintain
- Excellent communication skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
