Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform dental radiography (X-rays) and ensure radiation safety protocols
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain OSHA compliance
- Take accurate patient vitals and maintain detailed digital health records
- Manage inventory and order dental supplies efficiently
- Deliver patient education on post-op care and oral hygiene
- Support front desk operations including scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- 2+ years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital imaging (Dexis, Schick, etc.) and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent chairside manner and ability to calm anxious patients
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- High school diploma or equivalent with expanded functions training
