Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction management, and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures per OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory of dental supplies
- Delicate patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate digital patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Valid radiography certification and proficiency with digital imaging
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments and materials
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage patient anxiety
- Proven experience with sterilization and HIPAA compliance
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft/Dentrix practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
