Responsibilities

  • Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Patient Management: Greet patients, update medical histories, and prepare patients for treatment.
  • Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and cross-contamination prevention.
  • Diagnostic Support: Take and develop dental X-rays (Radiographs) as directed by the dentist.
  • Clinical Procedures: Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient appointments.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage appointment scheduling, process insurance claims, and maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program (CDA or RDA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Colorado Dental Assistant License (RDA) and current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in 4-handed dentistry, X-ray positioning, and dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar).
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
