Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Pharmacist in the accurate and timely dispensing of prescription medications to patients.
- Verify patient information and prescription details to ensure safety and compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
- Process payments, handle insurance claims, and provide excellent customer service at the pharmacy counter.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Prepare and package medications for delivery and curbside pickup services.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile pharmacy environment in accordance with health department regulations.
- Answer phone inquiries and assist patients with medication questions within scope of practice.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; Associate’s degree in Pharmacy Technology is preferred.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors quickly and accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet patient needs.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
