Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Perform chairside duties including instrument transfer, suction control, and patient monitoring
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA principles
- Manage infection control protocols including sterilization, instrument processing, and OSHA compliance
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and materials for efficient clinical workflows
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care instructions
- Maintain accurate digital dental records and practice management software
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification and current California X-ray license
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry practice
- Mastery of dental radiography techniques and digital imaging systems
- Expertise in infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Exceptional chairside assistance skills for diverse dental procedures
- Strong communication abilities for patient education and team collaboration
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental management software
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining precision
