Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone or in-person to determine the acuity of medical needs.
- Apply critical thinking to prioritize patient care and facilitate timely medical intervention.
- Document patient interactions, symptoms, and triage decisions accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with physicians, specialists, and patients to coordinate care plans.
- Provide patient education regarding symptoms, treatment options, and preventative health measures.
- Manage high-volume call queues efficiently while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Virginia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in triage, urgent care, or telehealth settings.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, evidence-based decisions.
