Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and perform diagnostic imaging
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital charting
- Provide chairside support including suctioning, instrument transfer, and material preparation
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring with proper certification
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification from accredited program (CODA or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Texas Dental Assistant Radiography License (RAD) or willingness to obtain
- CPR/BLS certification maintained throughout employment
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft or dental practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Exceptional communication skills in English and Spanish
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
