Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Verify patient information and prescription orders for completeness and accuracy before dispensing.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing cycle counts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications and insurance processes.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, DEA regulations, and state pharmacy laws.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new pharmacy staff members.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve complex medication therapy issues.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is mandatory.
- 1-3 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, or Epic).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of prescriptions with high accuracy.
- Strong ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
