Responsibilities
- Draw Blood: Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on adults and children with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Specimen Prep: Properly label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Patient Care: Interact professionally with patients to ensure a positive experience, explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and CDC safety protocols regarding infection control and sharps disposal.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and logs in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Inventory: Monitor and restock phlebotomy supplies and equipment to ensure readiness.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Licensure: Valid state license to practice phlebotomy in Kansas.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and venipuncture techniques.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Reliability: Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced medical setting.
