Role Overview


As a Patient Care Assistant (CNA) at Seattle General Hospital, you will be the heartbeat of our patient care team. You will work closely with registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care during their stay with us.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas, operating wheelchairs and stretchers safely.
  • Aid in the preparation of patients for examinations and treatments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with hospital hygiene standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current Washington State CNA certification or enrollment in a CNA program (for entry-level trainees).
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move patients as necessary.
