Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including vital signs and physical symptoms, to the nursing staff.
- Assist with Daily Living: Provide compassionate assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility to ensure patient comfort and dignity.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to strict hygiene protocols and infection control standards.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in behavior in electronic medical records.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in emergency procedures as trained.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current, unencumbered Texas State Nurse Aide Certification (CNA) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (may be obtained during training).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail when monitoring patient status and completing documentation.
