Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and patient examinations
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and collect lab specimens
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain patient confidentiality
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and assist with minor surgical procedures
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing forms
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (CMA certification preferred but not required)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic or experience preferred)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Valid CPR/BLS certification (training provided if needed)
- New York State Medical Assistant registration (will assist with application)
- Background check and drug screening required
