Responsibilities
- Measure patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and record data accurately.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with draping and positioning.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, urine analysis, and blood draws.
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and schedule appointments.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, diet, and follow-up care.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the healthcare field.
- Reliable transportation is required.
