Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies accurately and efficiently
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Review EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) and identify claim discrepancies
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims with insurance providers
- Maintain detailed patient billing records in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
