Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide crucial support to surgeons and the nursing team during surgical procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring smooth operations.
- Maintain Sterility: Adhere to strict aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infections.
- Instrument Preparation: Properly set up, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after operations.
- Room Preparation: Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile drapes, equipment, and supplies.
- Counting Instruments: Accurately count all sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Patient Care: Escort patients to and from the operating room and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks during surgeries.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- License/Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
- Attitude: Eager to learn, adaptable, and professional demeanor.
