Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical instruments and equipment under surgeon supervision
- Maintain sterile field integrity throughout procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Count and document all surgical items before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the surgical department
- Adhere to strict infection control and OSHA compliance standards
Qualifications
- No prior surgical tech experience required (training provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
