Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging instruments, and ensuring sterility protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and monitor equipment functionality throughout surgeries
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens between departments following safety protocols
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and restock ORs as needed
- Collaborate with team to optimize surgical workflow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
