Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures by taking medical histories and vital signs
- Assist dentists during treatments including instrument passing, suctioning, and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays) with proper radiation safety protocols
- Manage infection control by sterilizing instruments and maintaining treatment areas
- Manage patient records using Eaglesoft software and schedule appointments
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Order dental supplies and maintain inventory levels
- Assist with front desk duties including check-in/out and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license in California
- X-ray certification and CPR certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- Proficiency in dental software (Eaglesoft/Dentrix preferred)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
