Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside support with instrument transfer and suction management
- Take and develop diagnostic dental X-rays with digital imaging technology
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures (OSHA compliance)
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for optimal clinical efficiency
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and treatment documentation
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (XDR) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification with current renewal
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and chairside manner
- Knowledge of dental materials and instrumentation
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environment
- Washington DC dental radiology permit (or ability to obtain immediately)
