Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including sterilizing instruments and setting up treatment rooms
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic work
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging systems
- Manage infection control protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
- Manage inventory ordering and supply maintenance for clinical areas
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or RDA license from Nevada State Board
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to put patients at ease
- Experience with dental practice management software (Epic/Dentrix preferred)
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environment
