Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service rendering
- Appeal denied claims and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document chargeable services
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
- Train staff on coding updates and billing workflows
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Expertise with Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR platforms
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Louisiana Medicaid/Medicare guidelines
- Ability to manage high-volume billing cycles
