Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies following CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards
- Conduct thorough claim denials research and resolution to maximize reimbursement rates
- Perform account receivables management through follow-up calls and correspondence
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal audit protocols
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for real-time charge entry and verification
- Generate monthly reports on denial trends and A/R aging metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure complete documentation requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding guidelines and claim submission processes
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven accuracy in financial documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in flexible settings
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurance company interactions
