Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical claims for accuracy and completeness before electronic submission.
- Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines to ensure proper reimbursement.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and appeal denied claims with supporting documentation.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies professionally.
- Update patient demographic and insurance information in the EHR system.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Certification (CCS, CPC, CPC-H, or RHIA) is a strong plus.
- Previous experience with medical billing software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and revenue cycle management.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
