Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transportation of specimens
- Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to OSHA/HIPAA protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare equipment efficiently
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with lab staff and physicians for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Proficiency with EMR systems and medical terminology
- Valid North Carolina driver's license preferred
