Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care in emergency settings
- Utilize clinical judgment to make critical decisions about patient disposition and treatment pathways
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) with precise documentation of patient interactions
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Provide empathetic patient education and discharge instructions tailored to diverse cultural needs
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols and maintain strict confidentiality standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and departmental training
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the State of Hawaii with unrestricted status
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong cultural competency serving Hawaii's diverse patient population
- Excellent communication skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
