Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and triage systems to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care pathways
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear medical instructions and emotional support to patients and families
- Monitor patient outcomes and follow up on critical cases
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain departmental protocols and emergency response readiness
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years emergency room or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to cover day/evening/weekend shifts
