Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following HIPAA protocols
- Process and transport specimens while maintaining chain of custody integrity
- Verify patient identification and prepare lab requisitions with precision
- Comfort anxious patients and explain procedures with clear communication
- Maintain sterile workstations and calibrated equipment per safety standards
- Document all procedures in our electronic health records system
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure timely specimen processing
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical blood draw experience
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Ability to work independently with flexible daytime/evening shifts
- Proficiency in EHR systems and specimen tracking software
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and patient-centered approach
- High school diploma or equivalent required
