Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Provide accurate reminders for medication and monitor clients for any adverse reactions or changes in health status.
- Companionship: Engage clients in meaningful conversations, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe and clean living environment by performing light cleaning tasks, laundry, and changing linens.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, or community outings as needed.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to client needs and communicate any emergencies or concerns to the nursing supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or PCA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health, caregiving, or nursing assistance preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer clients (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, patience, and a genuine, compassionate demeanor.
- Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- First Aid/CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification is preferred.
