Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including oral surgeries and restorative treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to OSHA standards
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and maintain digital records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures including suction, instrument transfer, and material mixing
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene protocols
- Order inventory and manage supply chain for dental materials and consumables
Qualifications
- Active California Dental Assistant License (RDA or DA permitted)
- CDA certification or DANB radiology certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (must maintain current)
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
