Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and vital sign measurements with accuracy and empathy.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers and within scope of practice.
- Draw blood and perform basic laboratory tests (phlebotomy).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding follow-up care and instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
