Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify patient information under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, stocking, and conducting cycle counts
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise electronic health records
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy management
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
Qualifications
- Active DC Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification preferred
- Expertise in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical precision
