Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and prepare IV admixtures under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing, including data entry and insurance verification
- Maintain inventory control and order pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for record management
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
