Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while verifying patient information and medication details
- Assist pharmacists in preparing IV medications, chemotherapy, and sterile compounds
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation for 3,000+ SKUs
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and electronic health records using Epic systems
- Train pharmacy interns and new technicians on standard procedures
- Coordinate with insurance providers for prior authorizations and billing
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license or PTCB certification
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (QS1, Omnicell, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and sterile compounding
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8-hour shifts
- Basic IV certification preferred
