Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescription information and patient details before dispensing.
- Prepare and package prescription medications according to legal and safety standards.
- Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing medication orders for potential drug interactions and allergies.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing software and point-of-sale systems with high proficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer patient inquiries regarding their prescriptions.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, DEA regulations, and state pharmacy laws.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with the pharmacy team.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with pharmacy management systems.
